Applause for the Earmark Reformers
Earmarks, while not busting the federal budget, continue to be a symbol of how legislators spend OUR MONEY without proper scrutiny. I find it amazing that out of the 535 members of congress only 23 have announced that they want Earmark reform and will not use Earmarks to get money for their districts. Leading the 22 Republicans is John Boehner of Ohio who has never inserted an Earmark. Democrat Henry Waxman of California is the only member of his party who has joined in this commitment. These 23 reformers are to be applauded and hopefully will be able to bring more into their group.
