Freddie, Fannie, AIG and Bonuses, What About It Barney

This is not a post in support of bonuses, just a call for parity.

When AIG paid retention bonuses to their employees of $165 million dollars all hell broke loose.  When it was announced that AIG had paid the bonuses (approved by the government) politicians led by Barney Frank were furious and led the protests. President Obama chimed in with his famous “pitchfork mobs” analysis. Unions organized protests in front of the houses of AIG executives.

Now we read in the WSJ that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are going to pay $210 million dollars in retention bonuses. I wonder who will lead the protests in front of the houses of Barney Frank and his fellow representatives who just 18 short months ago extolled the virtue and health of these two organizations while they were in essence bankrupt.

As an aside has anyone asked Franklin Raines (Obama Advisor) to return his $50 million dollar bonus like they asked the AIG executives?  Of course not, these are the “do as I say not as I do Dems” in charge.
